New VM checklist

Things to do in a new Ubuntu VM after I create it:

1. Install a apt-cacher proxy. This involved editing /etc/hosts to add the caching host and then creating /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/90local-proxy with contents of: Acquire::http::Proxy "http://cache-host:3142";
2. Install vmware-tools.
